SEO Consulting

SEO consulting in Portugal for companies that need results in organic search — audit, strategy and execution, without the eighty-page report nobody reads.

Get a free SEO audit

Hiring SEO consulting usually produces one of two things: an enormous report nobody executes, or pretty monthly dashboards with nothing behind them. We do the opposite — find what is holding the site back, order it by real impact on the business, and stay until it is done. Whether you work with us continuously or on a single project, you always leave with a list of what to do next and why. You can see some of the projects we have worked on and who we are.

What's included

Technical & on-page audits

A full crawl of your site to surface what is holding rankings back — speed, indexation, architecture, canonicals and on-page issues — with a fix list ordered by impact, not by theoretical severity.

Keyword & intent strategy

We map the searches that matter to your business and the intent behind them, so every page targets demand you can actually win — not terms where you will never get past page five.

Content roadmap & clusters

A structured plan of pillar pages and supporting content that builds topical authority, instead of one-off posts published for the sake of publishing.

Digital PR & link building

Earning the credible, relevant links that still move the needle — without the spam that gets sites penalised, and without buying directories nobody reads.

Local SEO

If you sell to a specific area, we work the Google business profile, the location pages and the local signals that decide who shows up on the map.

Measurement that makes sense

We connect Search Console and GA4 to what matters — enquiries, quote requests, sales — so you know what SEO is returning, not just how many visits came in.

What SEO consulting actually is

SEO consulting is a diagnosis followed by a plan. The diagnosis answers three questions: can Google reach and understand your site, does the content answer what people are searching for, and is there any reason for Google to trust you more than your competitors.

The plan is what separates useful consulting from a PDF. It should say what to do first, how much work each item is, and what you can expect to gain. If your team cannot pick up the document and start on Monday morning, the consulting failed.

We work both ways: we can lead SEO end to end, or come in as an external consultant alongside the people you already have, giving direction and reviewing what ships.

Looking for SEO services in Portugal

Two very different companies search for this. The first is a Portuguese business that wants to be found by Portuguese customers. The second is an international brand entering the Portuguese market, usually with a strong site in English and no idea how competitive the local search results are.

The second case is where most of the money gets wasted. Translating your existing site is not a market entry strategy: Portuguese users search with different words, the informal register matters, and hreflang set up badly will have your English and Portuguese pages competing with each other rather than ranking side by side.

We are a Portuguese company and we work in both languages, which means we can tell you whether the demand you are counting on actually exists here before you commit budget to it. Sometimes it does not, and that is worth knowing in the first conversation rather than the sixth month.

What it costs

We give you the numbers upfront, because the question is fair and dancing around it wastes everyone's time.

Projects: from €1,000 to over €10,000. The range is about scope. An audit of a twenty-page brochure site sits at the bottom; migrating an e-commerce site with thousands of URLs, with execution and follow-through, sits considerably higher. What moves the number is the size of the site, the state it is in, and whether you want us to execute or only to direct.

Consulting only: €75 to €200 per hour. That is our time alone — diagnosis, strategy, direction and review. It does not include development, content production or link outreach, which are quoted separately because they depend on volume. Where you land in the range depends on the complexity of the project and the seniority it requires.

Three formats: by project, with scope and price fixed upfront; monthly retainer, for continuous execution; and hourly, for teams that only need direction. If we think what you need does not justify a retainer, we will say so.

What to check before you hire anyone

Questions worth asking any consultant, us included. Ask to see a client's Search Console, even anonymised: people who do this seriously show impressions and positions, not "visibility" scores from their own tools.

Ask what they would do in the first thirty days, and why. A generic answer about "optimising content" means they have not looked at your site yet. Ask what is not worth doing in your case — anyone who only has things to sell never has anything to rule out.

Be wary of ranking guarantees. Nobody controls Google, and anyone promising first place in thirty days is either using tactics that will cost you later, or picking terms nobody searches for. We wrote about this in more depth in how to choose an SEO agency.

When the problem is technical

Some sites do not need more content: they need the content they already have to be found. Duplicate pages, canonicals pointing at redirects, sitemaps out of step with what the server actually returns, pagination that closes the crawl halfway — none of it is visible on the site, and all of it decides what gets indexed.

It is the part of the work that pays off fastest, because it does not depend on convincing Google of anything: it depends on letting Google do its job. If you suspect that is your situation, start with a technical SEO audit.

How we work

1. Diagnosis. We crawl the site, connect to Search Console and GA4, and look at what competitors do better. Out of that comes a list ordered by impact.

2. Priorities. We go through that list with you. What is quick and worth a lot gets done now; what is expensive and worth little gets documented and skipped.

3. Execution. We do it, or we direct whoever does. Technical fixes, page rewrites, new content, authority — in the order agreed.

4. Measurement. We review with real Search Console data. What worked gets more; what did not gets changed. No vanity reporting.

SEO or wider digital marketing?

Plenty of companies come looking for digital marketing when what they need is only SEO — and the other way round. The practical difference: SEO works the demand that already exists, the people already looking for what you sell. The rest of digital marketing creates demand where it is not yet there.

If nobody searches for what you sell, SEO alone will not save you, and we will tell you that in the first conversation. If they do search and you are not there, that is exactly where we come in.

As for Google Ads: they do not compete, they solve different timeframes. Ads give you traffic tomorrow and stop the day you stop paying; SEO takes months and keeps working afterwards. If you need sales now, start with ads and build organic in parallel — and use what the ads teach you about which terms convert to decide where to put the organic effort. On measuring this, see the ROI of SEO.

Where we work

We are a Portuguese company working with clients across the country, in person around Lisbon and the Setúbal peninsula and remotely everywhere else. We also work with international clients targeting the Portuguese market. Dedicated pages for the main areas:

What you get

  • Better positions on the terms that bring customers, not the ones that fill reports
  • Sustained growth in qualified organic traffic
  • A prioritised plan your team can actually execute
  • Clarity on what is working and what is not worth continuing
  • Decisions based on Search Console data, not opinions

Frequently asked questions

How much does SEO consulting cost?

Projects run from €1,000 to over €10,000 depending on scope. Consulting alone — our time, without development, content or outreach — is €75 to €200 per hour depending on complexity. What moves the number is the size of the site, the state it is in, and whether you want execution or only direction. Tell us what you have and we will give you a fixed figure before you spend anything.

How long until we see results?

Technical fixes can show within weeks, because they only depend on Google re-crawling. Content and authority compound over months. Anyone promising you page one in thirty days is selling you something else.

Do you work with our in-house team or replace it?

Either. We can run SEO end to end, or work as embedded consultants who direct and upskill the team you already have. For many companies the second option costs less and leaves the knowledge in the building.

What is the difference between an SEO consultant and an agency?

A consultant gives direction and works with you directly; an agency brings more hands but almost always more layers between you and whoever does the work. We are a small team, which means you talk to the people doing it. For projects needing large-scale production, we will say so and suggest how to solve it.

Do I need to sign a long contract?

No. Some work makes sense as a project — an audit, a migration, a restructure — and some only pays off with continuity. We will not tie you to twelve months for something that fits in two.

Can you do just the audit, with no follow-on?

Yes. Plenty of clients start there: they want to understand the state of the site before deciding what to do. The audit is yours and you can execute it with whoever you like, with us or without us.

Do you work in English or Portuguese?

Both. We are based in Portugal and work in Portuguese for the local market and in English with international clients and teams. If you are entering the Portuguese market, the strategy work happens in English and the content work in Portuguese.

How do I follow the work and know it is working?

We work in Search Console and GA4, which are your accounts and not ours — you have access to everything at any time. We report impressions, positions and real conversions. We do not use third-party "visibility" scores that move without anything happening in your business.

What if my site is old or full of technical errors?

That is the most common scenario and often the fastest return, because technical fixes do not depend on convincing Google of anything. If the site is old enough that fixing it is not worth it, we will tell you — and then the conversation becomes about a new site, not about consulting.

Which industries do you cover?

We work across competitive niches — including sports journalism, iGaming and fashion — and our own product, Portugal Golfe. If your sector is regulated or has particular quirks, we will say upfront whether it is ground where we add value.
